Pastilla’s Donation To Ukraine & How We Can Support Ukraine Relief Efforts
It’s been a month since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February, starting a war that would leave several Ukrainian cities destroyed beyond recognition and millions of civilians displaced.
Over the last four weeks, the world witnessed many horrific attacks that destroyed civilian infrastructure, limiting access to basic necessities for thousands of people. But we’ve also witnessed an immense outpour of support and solidarity, with people around the world rushing to the nearest organizations and charities, looking to make donations and help those in need.
Pastilla has committed to helping the victims of the conflict, too. Our team quickly began collecting donations, raising money to aid humanitarian efforts in Ukraine. During this short campaign we collected a little over $2,000. We’ve decided to send funds to People in Need, a Slovakia-based non-profit organization.
From the start, People in Need (Clovek v Ohrození) took on an active role in relief efforts, responding to the war and providing support to Ukrainians. During the first weeks of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the People in Need organization gathered more than €3 million in voluntary financial contributions.
And as the conflict in Ukraine grew into a humanitarian crisis that almost seemed unimaginable, many companies worldwide were quick to announce their donations and show support to the Ukrainian people in any way they could. Our agency joins them by donating to the People in Need organization – and we invite you to do the same.
How People in Need (Clovek v Ohrození) Is Helping
The contributions of the Slovakia-based People in Need non-profit organization focus on three main areas:
- Providing assistance on the Slovakia-Ukrainian border in Vyšné Nemecké, Ubla, and Velké Slemence, where their volunteers provided heated tents, blankets, warm meals, tea, and psychosocial support to Ukrainian refugees. The People in Need volunteers have worked in shifts to deliver round-the-clock support every day.
- Providing assistance on the Ukrainian side of the border, where they offer essential humanitarian aid to displaced individuals, including mothers with children. They have now extended their assistance to the Transcarpathian region, providing mattresses, blankets, food supplies, and psychosocial support to internally displaced people who are temporarily housed in municipal buildings and schools that have served as makeshift shelters over the past few weeks.
- Providing assistance – including counseling and helping them communicate with local authorities, schools, and medical personnel – to Ukrainians who are now temporarily residing in Slovakia. However, they also aim to help those who decide to stay in Slovakia longer and will work on integrating them, as well.
Help The People Of Ukraine
Ready to join the wave of solidarity and help those in need? Pastilla invites you to join us and donate today – because each contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference.
Your donation will directly support victims of the war in Ukraine – millions of innocent civilians who were forced to leave their homes. Showing support in the coming months will be crucial for overcoming – or, at least, mitigating – the severity of this humanitarian crisis.
With your help, People in Need can continue to provide safe accommodation, access to drinking water and food supplies, hygiene kits, vital information, psychosocial support, and other urgent necessities to the Ukrainian people.
If you’d like to do your part and help millions of refugees – including families and individuals who have fled their homes since February – you can donate to the People in Need organization. You can donate directly via People in Need’s website here, make a direct transfer to IBAN: SK39 1100 0000 0029 4101 6716 (with the variable symbol “1111”), or you can send an empty text message to the number 837 to make a €5 donation.
