PlayLA Launches Toward LA28 Olympics and Paralympics
Kids playing on the Play event

Overview

LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the City of LA Department of Recreation & Parks, and Mayor Eric Garcetti’s office have collaborated on PlayLA. This is an exciting initiative ahead of the games that gives kids the opportunity to participate in free to low-cost sporting programs in their local neighborhoods. Pastilla agency was privileged to partner in branding, designing and launching the initiative.

Our PlayLA brand launch event attracted more than 1,000 kids!

Facing a tight timeline, we applied our proven process to design over 40 unique event signage and collateral pieces that communicate the spirit and unity of the multiple partners involved.

Whether kids are new to joining sports or new to the neighborhood, we wanted the colors and illustration style of the event to get them excited about being involved. We custom designed a full icon set to reveal the new Olympics and Paralympics-inspired sports being offered through LA Parks, including sitting volleyball and skateboarding.

Pastilla outfitted the event with new branding and interactive stations for kids to play and make memories. This included our photo booth and sports props.

Registration for the PlayLA sports are open. Cost of participation is $10 per person. For more info or to register, visit LAParks.org/PlayLA.
